Last Month, Friday HPS held the August Mentor Series with special mentor Go Takagi, Senior Development Manager for Sekisui House Australia. The HPS Mentor Series is aimed to develop our employees as well as our invited guests in specialist subjects across the property development sector.
Our team and invited guests, were taken on a rare opportunity to walk through the West Village site and construction site, an innovative, master-crafted heritage village comprising of retail, commercial and residential spaces, located in Brisbane’s West End.
Go Takagi and Sekisui House Development Manager, Dylan van Hoffen spoke to the importance of the heritage of the site, their community engagement phases, and the overall sustainability of the site demonstrating how they are creating a contemporary community – corporate, residential, and retail. They also provided a great overview of the site acquisition and negotiation history, the challenges in both the property feasibility and construction program, their property development process, as well as how they communicate project updates to their range of stakeholders.
As Development Management consultants and specialists ourselves, HPS value a peer approach to learning and development within the property sector. We thank Go and Dylan for sharing such an insight into the West Village project, as well as their own career paths, thoughts and personal values.
We also wish to thank our invited guests from other Brisbane property development consultancies and industry professionals including Mosaic Property Group, Paynters, JLL, Arch Design, Dexus and Keylin – Property Development Investment.
It truly was a rare opportunity and enjoyed by all.
